Print QR and barcode labels
Before you start
You need the tagging permission. Labels print on your own label sheets; choose a durable label material for plant floors and outdoor assets. A QR code carries an identifier only, never the asset's values.
Web edition
- Open Assets › QR / Barcode Labels. The tiles show assets in service, tagged, not tagged, tag not printed and RFID tags.
- Filter by Tag status (All assets, Not tagged, Tag not printed, Printed), branch, location or category, and tick the assets to label.
- Click Generate tags for assets that have no tag yet. If an asset already carries a physical tag, use Use an existing tag and enter its number instead.
- Click Print labels. Choose the Label template (sheet layout and label size), the Code type and Copies per asset (1 to 20). Set Start at position to skip used labels on a partly used sheet, and choose what to Print on the label: company name, asset code, asset name, location, cut outline.
- Click Preview PDF to check, then Create print batch. The batch records the print and gives you the PDF.
The Print batches tab lists every batch with its template, labels and who printed it. Download the PDF again to reprint.
Replace issues a new tag and makes the old one invalid; print the new label. Void stops a tag being scanned; the asset then needs a new tag. RFID export produces the RFID codes for your RFID printer-encoder's own software.
Desktop edition
- Open Assets › Tags & Labels and tick the assets. Use Untagged only, or Add register selection to bring in rows selected in the register.
- Click Generate missing tags.
- Under Label settings choose the Template, the Symbology (QR, barcode, Data Matrix or EAN-13) and Copies per tag. Set Start at label for a partly used sheet.
- Check the Label preview, then Print or Save PDF. Recent print batches lets you reprint.
RFID codes are issued with Issue RFID EPC and exported with RFID export…. They are never printed on the label.
Look up an asset by its label
- Web: Assets › Scan Asset. A USB or Bluetooth scanner types into the box; press Enter. You can also type a tag, asset code or serial number. Where the browser supports it (over HTTPS, with camera permission), Scan with camera reads the code with the device camera.
- Desktop: Scan QR (F9) with a USB scanner, a webcam (click Start) or a reader file (Import reader file…).
